Hi,Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community. As per the description, I understand that you are facing some issues using Windows 10.This might have occurred due to some system conflicts.Try the methods.Method 1:Run the System File Checker tool (SFC.exe)System File Checker is a utility in Windows that allows users to scan for corruptions in Windows system files and restore corrupted files. It will scan your system files and to repair missing or corrupted system files in Windows. To run the SFC scan, refer to the Microsoft article below.Method 2:I would suggest you to create a new user account and check if that helps.Refer to the Link given below.Hope this information helps. Please let us know if you need any other assistance with Windows in future.
We will be happy to assist you. So I spent over an hour in an online chat with a mircrosoft technician who was stumped on Saturday night. At the end 'elevated' the issue and scheduled me to receive a call from a technician this morning at 8 am.Tech called.promptly said he was not in the right department (after I briefly described the issue he explained he only dealt with installation and activitation issues) and needed to transfer me to W10 tech support.Transfer me.I get a message that says wait times are longer than an hour and a half and press 1 if I want a call back.
So I press 1 and get another message that says 'We can't accept your call right now' And I'm promptly disconnected.WTH? I took time off work for this! I can't believe how much of my life I have spent trying to fix a computer that was working perfectly fine before I downloaded W10. Update: Called back to schedule new tech call. Message said wait time 84 minutes. Enter 1 for a call back. Just got a call back at 11:00.
(165 minutes after I opted for call back).Tech (Kenneth) started remote connection. He got 'you have to be an administrator' message with everything he tried. After a few minutes he said 'hang on a minute while I check some of my tools. No contact for 20 minutes. Meanwhile I'm saying 'hello?' Every 5 or 6 minutes. I also messaged him once on the remote access window.THEN I watched him remotely close our connection.
He did not answer me on the phone or via the chat window.Phone starts ringing and another tech answers and says she is going to provide me with the best service and took my phone number. I politely and briefly explain my attempts to get help and that I'd really like to know what just happened with my call toKenneth. She said she just wanted to verify that my problem was with installation and activation! When I said no, the line was disconnected. I thought no big deal. She's got my number, right? And she knows that I've made multiple failed attempts to get some help. 20 minutes later no call back.Really?
I have no idea what to do. I cannot just go buy another computer. My computer is completely unusable. Somebody, please help me.Please. I feel your pain, been trying to regain access to my computer for over a month.
Spent many, many hours searching forums, and going around and around. Microsoft has done away with the greyed out yes, and not there isn't any place to enter a password, evenid there was a place to enter a password, I have no idea what the password would be! I am ready to buy a new computer, but it for sure will not have Microsoft Windows. Should new computer be open sourced or a Mac. Anyone have answer to best OS that willbe stable, and will not be screwed up in a few days!!
Flexibility was the big plus here. I could start as early as 4:30/5:00am and take a break to take my kids to school and then resume the route.Cleaning the kiosks and art boxes are a filthy job; if you are a germophobe, stay away! Your fingers and clothes will get dirty from handling the DVD cases that never get washed or sanitized, and from picking up garbage from around the machines.Mileage compensation for using your own car 500-700 miles weekly is a ripoff!! You're paid by a 3rd party using a convoluted formula at the rate of 16-18 cents per mile! The management team sucks.fall out of favor and your out regardless of perdormance.
On my team they fired half the supervisors and just reassigned the work. The leaders leave almost monthly. 3 CEO in my time. Horrible work life balance with priorities changing at the drop of a dime. As a supervisor your are responsible for too many markets and kiosk counts are very high. No assistanceor is provided by management.
I would say it's like running your own business but they will drop you like a hot potatoe. I really enjoyed the job.
Management was the best. But you'll add tons of miles to your car and to sacrifice space in your house for product. I was driving 500+ miles a week (4 day route) for work.
That's a lot of wear and tear on a car. Yes they pay you gas miles (somewhere around.15 -.25 a mile), and some extra for the wear and tear on the car, but it's still a lot on the vehicle. You will also need to sacrifice space in your house to store your product for the week (inbound and outbound product). If you don't have a garage, or live in a smaller home, this could cause problems. So, like with any job, it has it's pros and cons. Really, the best parts were management, and that I could kind of dictate when I would start each day. I was hired for 4-10 hour days, in reality it was 4 12-16 hour days. Driving was way more than it was proposed to be, often 25-38 miles between kiosks.
200+ miles a day. They still want more speed, how do you cut 4 hrs. Off of a day?
Salary isn't what they said, offered $15 an hour for the job, after accepted told it was $14. Don't really give you the 19 cents a mile they propose, more like 13 or 14 cents a mile with a monthly allowance, which certainly won't cover your expenses. You will run your car into the ground, it is such a mess you can't use it for anything else. Just a little warning. It's not what they describe.
Inside Redbox
I have to say-the boss was great. Redbox started out well because the company provided a car, phone, laptop, PTO, and benefits. I worked there for 5 years and unfortunately each passing year went downhill.I'll summarize by saying that micromanagement and bean counting got worse. Incompetent management made each passing week more stressful. I had 3 supervisors throughout my time there. One reason I left was because the final supervisor (hired from outside of Redbox) had no idea what he was doing, and the stress of his job must have caused him to have mood swings around his employees.Workload got ridiculous at times.
For example, while understaffed, many times we had to buy DVDs while trying to complete projects on kiosks within a tight deadline, and then merchandise all at the same time.Teams were always understaffed, and they never got the staffing right. Sure, I had PTO, but it was a major pain to get approval to use it.And due to staffing issues in neighboring markets, I ended up having to drive really far out of market on numerous occasions; more than the 10% travel outside of market listed in the job description. Work life balance suffered because of this.It ended up being not worth having the company car and phone, and laptop anymore, so I left. No regrets still. A typical day starts with checking your company provided tablet for dispatches or machine issues not yet dispatched.

You will travel to these kiosks in a company car which tracks you by GPS. You will repair the kiosk and then attend to numerous 'projects' assigned to that kiosk. Many of the kiosks are outside with no protection from weather. (direct sunlight, rain, snow ect.) It is not uncommon to spend hours working on a kiosk in bad conditions. (especially in summer where temperatures in a parking lot can become dangerously high) Management only expects results.
The hardest part of the job is the system they use to evaluate their employees. They use a 'Metric' system which is seriously flawed and undoubtedly designed to insure you never 'exceed expectations' which is how they decide your raise/bonus.
The addition of many new 'projects' with hard deadlines only adds to the stress of knowing you will work your tail off and not be rewarded for your hard work. The company seems to feel that because they give you a company car you should be thankful. They feel this is a fringe benefit, to me it was a tool needed to perform your job.
The most enjoyable part of the job is independence. You work alone which was the best part of the job. I applied for them and was told there was only a 3 years driving record check in which they didn’t give me the job because I’m 7-10 years I had a 2 speeding tickets. Then once they were running out of reason to not hire me they said it was my criminal check.
They have a unfair hiring process and everybody’s not on the same page so you never really know what’s what. I wouldn’t recommend applying here. It’s a waste of time. Idk anybody who hasn’t had a speeding tick in 7-10 years but my 73 year old grandmother.
These people are ridiculous. Apply at your own risk of wasted time.
